Martin
Captain Martin´s odyssey commenced in the arduous South African farmlands, transitioning to urban life in Pretoria at 16 for better education. A five-year apprenticeship as a unique sheet metal worker specialising in electromagnetic and radio-frequency shielding ensued. Fuelled by an insatiable thirst for adventure, the idea of becoming a sailing yacht captain crystallised. He relinquished belongings, keeping only his loyal German Shepherd, and earned a Yachtmaster Ocean license before delivering a catamaran to the Caribbean. A journey through classic and luxury yachts led him to embrace a smaller, intimate seafaring lifestyle.
Meeting his wife, Cari-Mari, shaped their intertwined destiny. Their union berthed into luxury catamaran charters in the Caribbean, fulfilling dreams for many guests. Together, they have sailed to 13 countries and explored 20 and a sabbatical for self-discovery and cultural enrichment, made travel their antidote for ignorance.
Captain Martin, a Yachtmaster Ocean, small craft surf-launch skipper, and dive captain, a PADI Divemaster and BBQmaster, aspires to bring out the best in people. As a steward of Mother Nature, he satisfies adventure cravings and crafts signature cocktails, fostering relaxation and a dream-like existence. Guests are urged to embrace transformative challenges. After extensive sailing, Martin and Cari-Mari, with their infectious love and entertaining spirit, continue to leave an indelible mark on maritime adventures.
