We all truly enjoyed our cruise on Xenia 62 last week … Myself, Paul, our daughter, and her family ... The boys were particularly delighted to enjoy all the warm weather activities a couple of months ahead of our summertime!
Both Capt. Matt and Tara were fun, pleasant, attentive, and most helpful in creating this memorable week in The BVI’S.
And … Thank you for the lovely vase of flowers.
Sincerely.

Tuesday JANUARY 8th 2019
Renaissance to St. Thomas USVI
In the early morning hours a mini-bus is wending its way through the streets of Renaissance to pick up a bleary eyed group of eight world travellers headed for a perilous trip of discovery to edge of the Atlantic Ocean namely the British Virgin islands. Unknown to them was the fact that British sailors had, 400 years prior, discovered the islands.

To the surprise of everyone the bus was able to handle the eight and their luggage in fine fashion. The music was handled by Don MacKay who managed to play Lyin’ Eyes by the Eagles at least 5 times. At this time the first witticism of the trip arose from one Mr. Simmonds who quoted that noted philosopher Robert Biddle who said and I quote “I know all the words to all the songs I know”.

The driver Eric finally located the labyrinth known as Miami Airport (MIA) using the technique of ever decreasing circles in spite of expert advice from Paula. The flight to St. Thomas was uneventful as everybody hopes for.

St. Thomas in general has not weathered the invasion of cruise ships or hurricanes very well but the staff at the Ritz Club was particularly proud of having brought the premises up to snuff very quickly after Maria. Let it be said that the bar and subsequent dinner were up to our lofty standards.

Tonight we anchored on land at the Ritz Club in St. Thomas following some clever negotiations by the Gnagys.

Wednesday January 9th
St. Thomas to Peter Island

After a copious buffet breakfast our next challenge was making it the Tortola ferry in time. But first we had to stock up on proper libations including something called Monkey’s Shoulder. The total amount purchased should have lasted for the entire month. The most time consuming part of this shopping expedition was finding suitable sized condoms for a member in the group.

At one time I thought the ferry trip would be 1-2 hours but 15 minutes later here we are facing customs into the British Virgin Islands a faraway spec in the realm of Queen Elisabeth II. Formalities completed, we pile into the local version of a taxi and head out to Nanny Cay where our home for the next 7 days awaits us. Along the way we witness first-hand the wreckage left behind by the hurricane and are amazed that half our bags didn’t fall off the back of the “taxi”.

And there she was, the Xenia, a 62 ft catamaran and to greet us was Captain Matt and his right hand mate Tara, a jack-of-all-trades and master of all.

At first glance the reaction was how the hell are we and our baggage going to fit on this boat.

After detailed analysis the “tall” passengers got the King Suites and the “short” people got the Queen Suites. To our amazement we had a shower, toilet (head), lots of storage and a comfortable bed although the headroom for said bed was minimal.
Tara greets us with great hors d’oeuvres and drinks giving us a heads up on what she will serve us for the next couple of days. Matt casts off and heads for the safety of Peter Island and casts anchor for our first evening.

Proper attire for the cruise was issued consisting of a classy blue T-shirt properly adorned with Xenia across the front and each individual’s name on the back. Certain individuals had mysterious numbers, others question marks, which will eventually be explained.

At this point, before our sea legs were properly adjusted Peggy of the famous Tumbling MacKay act decided to show us some fancy footwork only to end up in a crumpled pile in the doorway to the main room. A chorus of “Oh Shits” rose from the audience but after appropriate liberation from this awkward position it was determined that no really serious damage was done other than to her pride.

Tara’s first Cordon Bleu presentation gave us an inkling of the culinary standard to come from a galley the size of a phone booth. We then proceeded to drink half our trip’s medicinal supply.

Tonight the Xenia is anchored on the south side of Peter Island

Thursday January 10th
Peter Island to Prickly Pear Island

Today we sailed the coast of Virgin Gorda and planned to take a look at some land Richard Branson is developing on Necker Island but unfortunately Richard wasn’t in so we decided to pass on the opportunity. We went ashore on Prickly Pear and tried to figure out if the bar on the beach was being rebuilt or abandoned. In any case there was some pricey wood just lying on the ground and a few nervous goats hiding in the brush.

That evening we cast anchor in …….bay of Prickly Pear Island.

Friday January 11th
Anegada Island
Wonkey Dog, Cow Wreck Beach

This morning, at the “request” of Paula and John we set sail for Anegada a little known island lost in the upper northeast part of the British Virgin Islands which are themselves lost in the upper northeast part of the Caribbean Islands.

We set foot on the island at the Wonky Dog and patrolled this beach for some time. We then set forth to sample the beaches on the upper north side which, when looking straight north, would land you in St. Pierre & Miquelon, islands having a distinctly different climate.

On an other note this is the only island in BVI which isn’t some mountaintop sticking out of the ocean floor but more like a sand dune (coral reef) with the highest elevation being about 5 feet above sea level. It has a remarkable road network of concrete roads and legible street signs. There are three palm trees at the front of the bar, which have undoubtedly been imported from some other island being the only thing above 10 feet high on the island.

All of this background information is to point out the waves coming into shore at Cow Wreck Beach have travelled a long way and like to have some fun knocking over unsuspecting bathers. Beach cognoscenti know that beneath water waves are sand waves resulting in different ‘ledges’ as one enters the ocean or comes back on shore. So Clint, after frolicking in crystal green water began his way back to the bar and started to negotiate these ledges and just as he was elegantly about to climb the last one a rogue wave came roaring in and propelled him forward. In a valiant effort to regain his balance he tried to outrun the wave but was tackled from behind by a sea urchin resulting in an ungainly dive, face first into the sand thus regaling all those who witnessed his effort. He ultimately regained his composure, wiped off the sand and to his great consternation realized that no one gave a damn about his plight. That’s his story and he is sticking to it.

In a burst of logic it was decided to scratch the planned lobster pig-out at the Wonky Dog. Instead, Matt and Big John were dispatched to negotiate a deal to have the lobsters delivered to the boat where Tara could wield her magic.

Back on board the Xenia it was time to prepare for the highlight of the day namely the festivities associated with I’il Ellen’s birthday. In addition to the requisite Lo Cal cake Tara prepared us a meal of the biggest lobsters in recorded history while Matt hovered over our glasses to make sure no one went dry. All in all a meal fit for our gal Ellen.

Xenia stayed at anchor in the bay facing the Wonky Dog.

Saturday January 12th
Anegada to Marina Cay Scrub Island

Little is known of this day’s activities other than watching the planes come and go from Bear Island on Tortula and admiring a beautiful blue sloop with a mast at least as high as Xenia’s.

After some meandering back and forth Captain Matt set anchor for the night in Marina Bay off Scrub Island.

Sunday January 13th
Scrub Island to White Bay Jost Van Dyke

As usual the day started with warm sunshine and a favorable breeze allowing Capt’n Matt a leisurely sail to Jost Van Dyke and a visit to the renowned Foxy’s Bar. As you would expect the owner is named Foxy [Callwood] and is the local poet laureate. His forte is to spin local lore in a dialect understood by few.

After the requisite purchase of local apparel we proceed to prepare the midday meal when lo and behold we are joined by a festive group of 4 Crucians* who have sailed the ocean and joined us to celebrate Big John’s birthday. Included in the group are Paula’s sister Karen, her husband Rick and their boat mates Dave and Sue. Much merriment ensued with an embarrassing amount of Veuve Cliquot being consumed. These festivities ended around 3 pm to allow our newfound friends to make it back to St. Croix before dark. It also allowed sufficient time for Xenians to get in and out of the dinghy before dark.

The evening was taken up with the festivities associated with Big John and Clint celebrating their birthdays. On average they turned 73. Tara came up with a cleverly decorated cake adorned by a mini inferno that required much huffing and puffing on the part of the celebrants.
The two were presented with electronic drumsticks, which were pressed into service as bullshit meters.

• What they call people from St. Croix

The Xenia was moored in Great Harbor Jost Van Dyke

Monday January 14th
The Bight Norman Island

Today involved yet again a trip in the dinghy, In addition we decided to see the other side of Jost Van Dyke and headed for the Soggy Dollar. We all held our collective breath, piled into a very suspect truck/taxi and headed straight up the mountainside, stopped on the top, and then headed straight down the other side and collapsed on the beach and/or the bar. The big problem was we had to do the trip in reverse to get back to Xenia. The return trip included a scenic tour of downtown ………..

Tuesday January 15th
Dead Man’s Bay Peter Island
Another beautiful morning finds us off to the side of an area known for good snorkeling. As expected our most intrepid member DMacK fell overboard but fortunately was properly equipped with mask and flippers so off to the reef he went. Then our littlest mermaid decided to do likewise but was insistent that flippers were superfluous so all on board were very relieved when she finally made it back to the boat unharmed.

On to Cooper Island where the local resort had two attractions worth mentioning namely an ice-cream bar {serving sea-salt ice-cream, a delicacy known to a discerning few} and a rum bar serving up no less than some 180 different brands. An inappropriate time was spent here discussing the relative merits of different products and received Clint’s seal of approval when served “un p’tit ponch” a memory from his St. Bart days. It must be noted that the bartender was an Irishman, which at first thought would seem to be a recipe for disaster. But it was early in the day and he seemed to be quite knowledgeable about his inventory. The lunch was a glorious affair where the Xenia crew joined us all under the sponsorship of the MacKays.

Once passed the final dinghy challenge the group started their preparations for tomorrow’s departure but not before Tara served up Beef Wellington for 8! The supply of medication was depleted but for the half bottle of Monkey Shoulder scotch.
Xenia was moored on the north side of Peter Island for the night.

Wednesday January 16th
Nanny Cay Tortola

All good things must come to an end. This merry group of now seasoned sailors must take leave of Capt’n Matt and his trusty sidekick Tara, bid adieu to each other and return to reality.

The representatives from Triana and Upper Vittoria headed for the ferry to St. Thomas and flew back home to recover.

The two from Terra Bella, wanting to prolong their stay in the Virgin Islands took the Island ferry to St. Thomas and haven’t been seen since.

The last two from Lower Vittoria just could not face the trials and tribulations of everyday life and hopped, skipped and taxied their way to Port St. Charles Barbados where charter members of the SASS group awaited to prolong the merriment.

Dinghies are floating balloons and constitute the biggest challenge to occasional seafarers. It is physically impossible to enter or exit these things elegantly especially if the person is mobility-challenged. In our case once Matt was in it left precious little space for anyone else. His job was akin to the catcher in a trapeze act. We threw ourselves at him and if he caught us all was good. If not, the bottom of the dinghy was the net.

The sea is moving, the cat is moving, the dinghy is moving and you are not.

The Trooper of the Cruise Award goes to one Single Sock Simmonds who was able to follow the troop’s expeditions without missing a step.

The Sartorial Excellence Award goes to Don MacKay for his formal PJ on the night of the 13th.

Hard to describe are the early morning Sudoku sessions. Calm seas, sun rising in the east, Matt and Tara already up serving good coffee and pastries… sheer serenity.

The Xenia has up-to-date WiFi and a Bluetooth printer. Clint was able to download his Sudokus from his hometown newspapers. So much for being isolated from the rest of the world. Unfortunately IPhones worked perfectly.

Advances in technology now permit any island in the Caribbean, however small and remote to have satellite internet and TV. To whit we watched the NFL Championship Game, live and in color, sitting on a stool in Foxy’s Bar in Jost Van Dyke.

From 5000 passenger cruise ships to aircraft carriers to mega yachts to catamarans to sailboats to sport boats to dinghies et al how much money is floating around the earth’s
water?

WOW! Absolutely the best I have ever chartered. Spectacular boat, accommodation, details reminiscent of Mandarin hotel in Singapore (my best ever.) But total trip was created beyond this world by Mat and Tara. REAL PEOPLE!!! The best personalities I have ever lived with for 7 days!!! Perfect for my crew, perfect for any crew. Safely, knowledge, superior meals, great listeners, and most of all, dedicated to the wishes and dreams of our crew. Wish I could take them home. Dream 70th birthday sail beyond compare!!! Want to sail in Grenada with them in 2019. Let me know available dates.
Tight lines and thank you. Rich

Then it certainly applies to you both.
We all know that you both work hard, but make it all seemed so EFFORTLESS and ELEGANT..
Thank you both so much for showing and being a shinning example of true HOSPITALITY

Our cruise on the Xenia 62 was absolutely fabulous!!

The boat was immaculate and very comfortable. Matt was a skillful captain, good bartender, and he was a great entertainer for our grandchildren. Tara was an exceptional chef. All of our meals, and the presentation of them, far exceeded our expectations. Our only complaint is that the trip was too short.

Thank you. We will return!

25th Feb - 4th March

Dear Jos and Chrizaan

Thanks so much for showing us such a great time aboard the Xenia! Your hospitality went over and above. Everything was perfect-the accommodations, the crew and especially the food! We never ate so much in our lives, but found ourselves always looking forward to the next meal!
Jos you chartered a perfect course for our trip. We managed to get everywhere we wanted to go even though there was swell. And you always got us the best spot to anchor wherever we went. You all made this the best sail we ever had. You are both very organized and efficient but also fun loving and tolerant of our craziness. We all had a blast and would love to go with you again sometime. Thanks again for everything!

February 2017

It´s hard to know where to start !

Our trip on Xenia so far exceeded our expectations that we were planning to do it again before we even left the boat.

First, Jos and Chrizaan were amazing. So attentive, always pleasant and accommodating. They made the trip. Their warmth, professionalism and attention to every detail was second to none.

Chrizaan´s cooking was incredible. We loved every single dish that she made.
We all wanted to take her home with us!

The boat was perfect , too. Beautiful spacious state rooms with more than ample storage. A separate shower and toilet area was a nice surprise.

Jos asked the right questions to allow him to plan our days in a way that gave us exactly what we wanted - each and every day.

We travel quite a bit and I can honestly say that this vacation was one of the best vacations we ever had.

1th - 18th August 2016

WE have been on many family trips, but this trip exceeded our expectations! This was due to both of you! Your warm hospitality and attention to detail surpassed any 5 star resort we have been to!
AS you saw by our constantly cleaned plates, your meals were extraordinary. You keep Ed smiling with the never ending bowls of chocolate Haagen Daz, and not one but two chocolate cakes! We enjoyed watching Jen and Charlie wake skate. Your patience and ability to teach new things made it look easy. Thank you for finding Lisas ring and escorting us through the caves. We always felt safe and comfortable on Xenia. Thank you for all your hard work and efforts. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. You are an awesome couple!
Love. The Longs

July 2016

Chrizaan and jos
What an amazing trip with 2 of the most gracious crew and now friends. From our initial greeting i knew that we will be well cared for. From seeing all the sights to gaining at least 10lbs from all chrizaans fabulous meals. What a gift you two are to the Xenia. The passion you two have for making sure that each person on the trip had a memorable experience will stay with me for ever.

We look forward to another trip next year. Im hoping for many years of happiness to you both. It is very deserving for a couple who works very hard at pleasing others. Thank you for an amazing holiday with friends.

Stay well,
Diane

June 2016

The trip was wonderful. The boat and crew fully met and exceeded our expectations. Jos and Chrizaal were wonderful. The food was fantastic. None of us had any complaints whatsoever. Thanks for all your help in rescheduling. The weather was perfect! HD

April 2016

Dear chrizaan and jos
After a week like this the hardest part is to say goodbye. Our big dream about sailing the caribbean with all our parents and kids came true.
You made this week spectacular. Every minute of our time was infused with your loving care and endless effort to come up with the most brilliant itinerary to visit the most amazing spots. Chrizaan every dish you served was a master piece. Every drink had a special touch. Jos your artistic video and photos will be the best memory of this unforgettable week. We all want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

March 2016

Thank you for your kind follow-up note. I know I can speak for every member of our group in saying that our trip was perfect in every respect. A few thoughts and observations:

Xenia 62 was in immaculate condition, hospital clean, well organized, well stocked and everything running as designed in excellent order. It was spacious, most comfortable and luxurious. The owner can take great comfort in knowing his yacht is being well run and well maintained by Jos and Chrizaan.

Most importantly we must compliment Jos and Chrizaan for their role. If one were looking for the perfect couple to represent the yacht´s owner, to serve as a duet of ambassadors for perfection in every respect, that would be Jos and Chrizaan.

Jos and Chrizaan made the trip a memory of a lifetime. In some order of chronology, let me begin by saying they made great contact with us prior to our arrivals, gave excellent directions, were waiting for us upon our arrival and welcomed us aboard Xenia 62 with snacks and drinks. It just kept getting better each day.

Jos is a gentle giant, kind, professional, in-command, attentive, proficient and polite. He works extremely well as a team with Chrizaan. Often that is not always the case and especially in close quarters over extended periods of time it can be difficult to be on top of your game each day and manage the work with each other. They are clearly a great team together and it showed.

Jos is clearly well respected in each location we stopped at and was excellent in handling and guiding us through Customs clearings. Some would have merely dropped us off and pointed to the Customs office and left. Jos did not. He guided us through the process and clearly was well respected by the Customs officers. This too speaks very well of Xenia 62 and its owner. The ramifications of that can´t be underestimated.

Chrizaan was simply over the top! Kind, gracious and fun. Each meal she prepared was a 6 star presentation and culinary delight. Not one menu was repeated!!

Her servings were ample, the quality outstanding, presentations were a work of art (so much so we started taking pictures of each meal as she and Jos served them to us). We were amazed at how skilled Chrizaan was to prepare essentially 30 meal servings per day (the eight of us and the two of them) at a 6 star level, each meal served on-time and prepared in a relatively small galley. That takes considerable planning, skill, coordination and timing to have everyone´s meal so perfect each and every time.

They also were kind enough to have some birthday decorations and a special meal for two in our group who had birthdays during our trip. It´s that kind of extra-mile attention to detail and kindness that separates our experience from the competition.

She serviced our rooms and kept them spotless in a way that if you were not focused on her, she completed those tasks before you even noticed.

Suffice to say both Jos and Chrizaan were up well before any of us and went to bed after we did. We are the all members of the Jos and Chrizaan Fan Club. They breed loyalty, dedication and repeat business.

It is clear that Jos and Chrizaan take great pride and pleasure in their work and that benefited each of us on our trip.

We simply can´t say enough good things about our entire experience. We were so impressed and got along so well with Jos and Chrizaan that we invited them to stay with us should they ever find themselves in the Los Angeles area. That sums up our experience and respect for them. The owner of Xenia 62 is very lucky to have them as his representatives.

March 2016

Dear Broker,
Have to tell you, you knocked it out of the park on this one! Everything is what we hoped it would be and more. Jos and Chrizaan are lovely, and food and hospitality and professionalism ideal. We are having a wonderful time and this boat and its quality are over the top. Thank you so very much for the recommendation. We are already talking about doing it again when the kids are in school so we would have more flexibility on timing and prices.

Thank you again for checking, it has been spectacular so far!

All the best

New Years 2015/16

Sorry for the slow response. Were back to reality.

Our holiday on Xenia 62 was fantastic! It exceeded every one of our expectations. The boat is beautiful. The accommodations were perfect for our family. Jos and Chrizaan are wonderful hosts and very nice people. They are very professional, knowledgable, personable, and friendly. They took great care of us.

Jos and Chrizaan know the BVIs like the back of their hands. We planned a route every day, sailing to a beautiful spot for lunch and snorkeling, and then on to a perfect anchorage for the evening.

Jos skippers the boat effortlessly, as if hes done it all his life. He put Xenia 62 in the best part of the anchorages for whatever activity we intended to do. Chrizaan is a wonderful chef. Meals were five star. We couldnt figure out how such delicious food could come from such a small galley! She modified the meal plan to accommodate one of our childrens eating preferences without skipping a beat. Our eldest son paid Chrizaan the highest complement by asking if my wife could get the recipes and cook like this at home.

The whole experience was so wonderful that we didnt want to leave when our week was over. Surely well be back at some point.

Thanks for helping us put it together.

Take care,
Steve

February 2015

Being boaters and loving the water, we dreamed of a caribbean adventure in the British Virgin Islands to celebrate our beloved husband and fathers 70th Birthday. Our dreams came true on the sleek, elegant, relaxed and secure Xenia catamaran.
The Yacht, salon and staterooms far exceeded our expectations and were more like you would find on a boutique cruise ship, linens and amenities superior. the lustrous teakwood thorough out glowed with a honey hue, rich and warm,
as were the crew.
Gareth the perfect host and admirable and steadfast captain, keeping us in calm and silky azure waters and picturesque beaches and ports, no cruise ships in sight.
Kristine, the consummate hostess and chef, created epicurean delights from scratch with just the right fusion of sweet and savory, perfect medley of nutrition and flavor. The table was set elegantly each night with an array of colors and designs.
We expected a great trip but they both went above and beyond even taking underwater pictures of the family with colorful sea life making our experience a Magical Trip of a Lifetime.
Thank you, Champ, Peggy Sue, Casey, Christine, Gary, Juliet, and Emily

New Year 2014/15

Me and my family are one day back from the best family vacation of my life and want to thank you for your help in arranging a fantastic trip and connecting me & my family with Gareth and Kristine. Having never chartered a boat before, I wasn´t sure what to expect but what I do know is that Xenia is a tremendous yacht and much more importantly, Gareth and Kristine are tremendous. They are true professionals who struck an incredible balance of knowledgable boat captains, safety marshals, incredible chef (Kristine in particular) sailing instructors, friendly yet firm when needed with kids, and generally very conscientious about all of our needs from drinks, to scuba, to water skiing, etc. We all would want them to join us in any game or event as they were so fun and interesting to be with. While always flexible, they also always had a good plan in place with several options depending upon our prevailing desires and energy level. Additionally, I had a personal goal of learning some sailing details and Gareth would continue to ask me to participate and show me aspects of sailing this beautiful boat when I´m sure it would have been easier to do it all himself.

While I haven´t chartered before, I am also in the service business and I know they delivered tremendous, world class service and as such I hope I have the opportunity to work again with you and your company and will hope to have the good fortune of seeing Gareth & Kristine again in the future.

Many thanks,
Topher Callahan

Christmas 2014

We are out of words to express what a wonderful charter you put us in. First Gareth and Kristine are extremely fun and professional. Never before have we had 17 exquisite meals in a row. What an accomplishment!
The boat has a beautiful teak interior and is kept in mint condition.
Activities were numerous and fun for both generations in our family.
Each of us has voted for their individual preference:
Flexibility in schedule (Vanessa)
The anchoring locations (Maria)
The views (Ana)
The sailing part and helping with the sails and anchor (Nick)
The Soggy Dollar (Olivier)
Water skiing and hiking in Salt Point (Helena)
Kit surfing and the Bitter End (Phil)
Seeing the entire family so very happy (Jose)
We could go and on but we don´t want Gareth to get too much of a big head, ha.
Thanks for creating these memorable moments for all of us
We wish you the very best
From all of us
The Cortes family

December 2014

We loved everything about Xenia: The boat design, the comfortable cabins, the sailing, the lovely beaches, and above all, Garreth & Kristine attention and friendliness. Every moment was perfect, the food was wonderful, words cannot describe this magical week.
We will be there again next May and it is our intention to repeat the cruise on December 2015.
This was the best of our eight catamaran trips.
Best Regards,
Fernando, Marcia, Antonio, Irma, Marcio, Claudia, Luiz & Lucia.

JANUARY 2014

Gareth and Kristine,
Each time we come back to the BVIs we think, how could this trip top the last one. Well you succeeded. The food stood out as the best EVER! The sailing on perfect winds was the best ever! Because everything was seen to by you guys we were truly able to relax, play games, and enjoy our family vacation. It is so difficult to disembark, but know that a little piece of each of us will remain with you.
Thank you for helping me make this our best trip yet. Hopefully we will see you again soon. Until then, our prayers and best wishes for safe travels and a wonderful life
Your friends,
The Texas C´s.

NOVEMBER 2013

Gareth and Kristine,
Thank you so much for an amazing trip! Gareths love of sailing was wonderful to see and made this a true sailing adventure. Kristines contribution to the trip was unbelievable- the meals coming from the galley-everyone- was beyond wonderful! Especially considering she had to deal with two children (that eat nothing), a vegetarian, and a gluten free in the group- truly an amazing feat!
Thanks both of you have made this wedding trip for my son the best we have ever had.

Wedding charter

NOTE: Guest comments from last boat Gareth and Kristin were on by the name of BLISS.

Thank you so much for such an amazing trip!!!It was so much better than we could ever have hoped for, and not just because it was Marc and Mels wedding, but in large part because of your expertise in matching each group with the right boat and crew. All the yachts were spectacular and everyone really praised their crews all week. However, I need to put in a special plug for Gareth and Kristine on Bliss.

Ric and I have done several charters in the past, from bare boating to crewed and NONE came close to this trip. From the moment we stepped on board all our expectations were surpassed.

Though Bliss is a gorgeous and extremely comfortable catamaran, my biggest praise for the success of the trip goes to the crew themselves.

Gareth takes great pride in Bliss and keeps her in pristine condition. He really went out of his way to make everyone feel safe especially while trying new activities.my young grandchildren and a close friend learned to snorkel on this trip and he was always right alongside with the dingy to ease their fears. His love of sailing and knowledge of the area made for a great trip. We routinely sailed more than the other boats in our group and he brought us to a few different spots he knew we would enjoy when the itinerary with the others allowed. One night we moored at Monkey Point.we were the only ones there, the stars were spectacular and snorkeling was the best of the trip.

Poor Kristine had her hands full with our group (2 children that eat nothing, 1 vegetarian, and 1 no flour and sugar).Somehow she came up with the most amazing meals that fit our restrictions and that EVERYONE loved, even the kids ate better than I have ever seen. Ric was particularly impressed with all the desserts and sweet extras she made like greeting us with fresh chocolate chip cookies when we came back from a swim. Kristine is truly a top notch chef and her meals were better than most high end restaurants. I really wanted to take her home with me.

But most of all EVERYTHING they did for us they did so willingly and with a smile.like it was no problem at all. They were both great with the kids and us oldies too. They just made us all feel special and pampered all week. Gareth and Kristine are an exceptional team and are a great asset to Bliss.

NOVEMBER 2013

Dearest Gareth and Kristine
Thank you is an understatement. You both treated me like royalty and were so patient and kind looking after the non sailor and at time non swimmer. I will have to go to the tailor to add inches to my waistband the food sun, wind, and laughter will be remembered always. Thank you both ever so much and I thank the yacht, she is a lovely ship and she kept us safe and sound.
Happy sailing, love you all
Colleen
