MEET THE CREW

Captain: Brad Korth
Chef/First mate: Cathy Korth

Brad and Cathy grew up boating, waterskiing, hunting, fishing and four-wheeling in the beautiful outdoors of Idaho. Meeting on a blind date arranged by Cathy’s uncle, who was Brad’s Gunnery Sergeant in the Marine Corps, they have been married for 24 years and have continued the active out-door life-style and love of travel and adventure. They love putting lots of miles on their Harley and have visited 38 states, scratching their itch to travel and see the U.S. In addition to travel, they enjoy running and completed the Seattle Marathon together in record slow time! This experience led them to believe anything is possible as long as you put one foot forward. After they both worked careers in corporate level positions in Legal and Health care careers, they decided the deck of a boat was more attractive than a boardroom. After a couple of seasons running charters in the Caribbean it is obvious it was a good fit.
Cathy’s love of cooking and baking expanded from cooking for friends and family to professionally baking for weddings, birthdays, and receptions. She enjoys cooking in the islands and incorporating the local flavors and colors into the meals. Her chunky chocolate chip cookies are to die for!
Brad first recognized a keen interest for water sports while working on his Eagle Scout Badge. Feeling more at home on water than on land, being on a boat is definitely his “Happy Place.” He always insists he has salt water running through his veins.
Their passion for sailing grew out of a trip to Tahiti and becoming acquainted with the cruising life. Coming home to Idaho they bought their first sailboat in a used car lot and taught themselves to sail on mountain lakes. Trading this first boat for a larger one, they attended a live-aboard ASA certification course in San Diego and shortly thereafter took their own boat and sailed in the Sea of Cortez. Yearning for larger sailing grounds, they relocated to the Pacific Northwest to chase the sailing dream and sailed extensively in Puget Sound, the San Juan and Canadian Gulf Islands and up into Desolation Sound. They lived aboard their own 42’ sailboat for 5 years when, wanting to share their love of sailing, they opened and operated a successful vacation property and day-charter business on San Juan Island. After becoming “empty-nesters” they realized their dream of living where “the weather suits their clothes” and continue to enjoy the chartering, hospitality, and sailing life-style in the Caribbean! Having a number of seasons of experience in the Islands they always enjoy sharing their love of the beautiful and fun places the islands have to offer.

Above and Beyond!

My family recently had the fortune to embark on a week long sailing trip around the British Virgin Islands with Raph Marshall as our captain. Although we´ve sailed around the area several times in the past we still felt it prudent to hire a captain for our trip, as this was the first excursion with our daughters. We were a bit hesitant to commit to a week in such relatively tight quarters with a total stranger, but were immediately put at ease by Raph´s pleasant demeanor, which we enjoyed throughout the entire journey.
Despite his relatively young age, his competence as a captain was evident at all times. We were quite impressed with his ability alternate from being professional when necessary and revert to a very enjoyable member of our trip when appropriate. He was always open to suggestions as long as they were safe, but also made sure to lend his experience and expertise, making sure we had an ideal trip. It was also evident the hostess felt he went above and beyond his duties to assist her in creating a memorable experience.
We arrived at the boat with a bit of trepidation regarding who we´d be spending the week with and left someone we hope to have a life-long friendship. We plan on several more sailing trips in our future and will not hesitate to spend them with Raph at the helm.

A wonderful hostess now friend!

Hello,

I recently finished my experience sailing. My crew and I had the privilege of having Molly Andrews as our hostess this past week. From the very first encounter Molly allowed us to go from being completely lost to stress free without a care in the world. She went above and beyond to anticipate our every need whether it be feeding us or something as simple as helping us prepare for the next activity. She truly loves what she does and goes the extra mile to make sure every single person in your crew (including the skipper) is taken care of. There was never a time she wasn´t laughing or smiling. Molly woke us up every morning to the smell of delicious food and a warm smile. She always had something delicious prepared, even if it meant waking up at the crack of dawn. I personally was sea sick during the trip and she made sure to check in on me to ensure I was okay. Molly was perfect and made our trip better than we could have asked. She is a wonderful hostess/now friend.

Thank you,
Camille Fuller

Utmost Professionalism, Skill and Charm

Raph worked with us through both the 17’ and 18’ sailing seasons in Croatia. His role as
skipper for us required him to deal with a huge variation in guest profiles and personalities.
He has performed each and every trip he has undertaken with the utmost professionalism whilst also remaining light hearted and friendly with the guests when required. He is a competent and professional skipper and his ability to manage guests effectively and without assistance has made him an invaluable part of our team.
Our guest feedback regarding Raph was almost flawless and we feel that his skill and charm
when dealing with guests makes him the ideal charter captain. We can recommend Raph
without hesitation and wish him the best of luck in any future sailing endeavors he may have.

We Gained an Awesome Friend!

Raph is the most genuine, professional, funny and uplifting captain!! He was super accommodating, he went above and beyond to make us all feel comfortable and safe and have the best time of our lives! We not only got a great captain but we also gained an awesome friend.

Gave Us Space Yet Very Attentive!

In February, 2019, my family and I got the pleasure of sailing around the BVI with Molly Andrews. We were celebrating both school vacation as well as my 50th birthday.
As soon as we stepped on board, Molly greeted us all with a big hug and a beautiful fruit board!!!!! That was just the beginning of all the wonderful food she cooked for us all week. My oldest daughter is vegan and my youngest daughter is gluten free. Molly accommodated all our food issues with amazing meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. She served top-notch meals every day. How she made a vegan meal, gluten-free meal and 4 regular meal 3 times a day in the catamarans little galley kitchen is beyond me!!!!
The day of my birthday started out with a bang. Molly bought balloons and my 4 daughters and Molly blew them up and decorated the main cabin for me. I then was treated to a wonderful breakfast including a blueberry breakfast cake with birthday candles from Molly.
Molly has a wonderful easy going personality. She was so great with my girls. They now consider her a very good friend. Two of my girls cried when we were leaving because they were going to miss Molly. She gave us the space we needed on our vacation but was also very attentive when we needed something.
If I had all the money in the world, I would hire Molly to be our personal chef.
I highly recommend Molly for your next vacation. We were so lucky to have spent the week with her.
