Interlude Description
Interlude is a new (December 2021) Bali 4.8 that has been fitted out as a luxury sailing yacht with a full-time, live-aboard captain and chef/first mate, by a wealthy owner for the use of his family and personal guests. It has been equipped to provide a unique “Interlude Respite” for very busy and discerning people. It is not a typical charter company, hard-driven sailboat.
The owner intends to offer the “Interlude” experience and first-class crew and amenities to discerning charter guests during November to June time frames that Interlude is not serving the needs of the Owner´s family and personal guests. The Owner takes great pride and has gone to particular expense in seeking to offering charter guests a first-class vacation- “Interlude”- from the moment they come aboard to the moment that they disembark.
During Winter/Spring 2022 Season, guest feedback has been remarkable and helpful in formulating Interlude charters for a special and unique guest experience.

Interlude Crew Profile
Captain
Chef/First Mate
CAPTAIN
Andrew Le Roux
Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Andrew is the adventurous type and has been sailing since 2012, when he first sailed across the Indian Ocean. That first trip was all it took and he was hooked, deciding that he would one day become a captain himself.
He completed his Yacht Masters in the cold and stormy waters of Cape Town while at the same time studying for his post-graduate degree in business. After his schooling he furthered his experience as a first mate for a year in Malaysia and Indonesia. Not long afterwards he captained his first yacht in Thailand, and then went on to chartering an array of sailing yachts in Croatia.
He is a water sports enthusiast, an experienced diver, spear-fisher and surfer. Besides being active, Andrew is a jack of all trades and you will find his down to earth nature inviting - join him for a “captain´s cocktail” under a beautiful Bahamian sunset while Anthon cooks up some local delicacies.
CHEF
Renata Himiona
Born and raised in coastal northern New Zealand, Renata has always been close to nature and the water. Seeing her mother´s passion for food and garden-to-table cooking from a young age, she experienced the joy that surrounds a beautifully prepared family meal.
Moving to Europe in her mid-twenties and taking a corporate job, Renata spent time living in London and Amsterdam, all the while finding it hard to abandon her sense of adventure for travel and cooking. It was in Europe that she fell in love with sailing, and decided to take the leap to combine her passions of cooking and being on the water.
Her favourite dishes include a mix of Middle Eastern, Italian, Mediterranean, and French cuisines, however she enjoys trying new things and is constantly experimenting with new flavours, spices and cooking styles. She loves to explore local food markets and find new and exciting ingredients, and looks forward to sharing these discoveries with you in The Bahamas.

January 2022
...Where to begin? I suppose we´d first like to thank Captain Andrew and Chef Renata. You two delivered an experience we will carry with us the rest of our lives. Not only did we enjoy first class treatment, but we also enjoyed your company, and we have made a special friendship with you both. I think we will see each other again. This was such a special trip, it´s difficult to properly put it into words. The music, the water, the views, the breeze!!
We relaxed fully
We laughed heartily
We filled our cup up
And you both made our trip truly, a once in a lifetime (well, maybe twice or three times?) experience. Until next time, Interlude, safe travels, and much love and respect!!

To the owners of this fine vessel and to ALL guests who will sail her in the future. Being a naval officer, I can appreciate the leadership, professionalism, and capabilities of both Captain Andrew and our Chef, Anthon. Both these gentlemen displayed the highest degree of proficiency in ship handling in addition to spending time with each of us making us all feel right at home. Our chef has spoiled us with the best meals we have ever had. In summary, these two gentlemen are an asset to this ship.

First we thank God for blessing us with a son and his wife that loved us enough to host us on our vacation of a life time. Our memories will last for us a lifetime as we celebrated our 50th anniversary on this adventure. There was a perfect Captain Andrew, a perfect Chef Anthon, perfect sunsets and each day our hearts were filled to the brim with joy. The Interlude was our pause in our lives to share your dream and make our dreams come true.
Thank you!
