MEET THE 2023/2024 CREW:

Captain Luke

I am Luke Nienaber a born and bred South African. I was born in the interior of South Africa before moving to the coastal town of Port Elizabeth also known as the Windy City where my love for the ocean and all its wonders began.

From a young age I enjoyed using the force of wind as a form of play, from flying all sorts of kites to propelling myself on a skate board with a homemade sail. I have always been an adventurous and thrill seeking person, with a passion for meaningful social interaction and taking in all that life has to offer.

My sailing journey although starting late at the age of 19 was what put all that I enjoyed into one place. After completing my sailing Yachtmaster Offshore and many other qualifications flyby the end of 2021, I made my way to Antibes, France on the search for my first job in the yachting industry. Three weeks later through hard work and dedication, I was offered the position of sole crew member including the role of captain on a Nautitech 54ft sailing Catamaran. This is where I spent 6 months onboard sailing the entirety of the Croatian Coastline and 2 months cruising through the waterways in and around Venice, Italy.

After returning home early this year, I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to take part in the delivery of a Knysna, South Africa built 44ft catamaran from Cape Town, South Africa to Greneda at the bottom of the Caribbean chain. This took a total of 49 days on the ocean and 5833 nautical miles, a truly remarkable experience.

Now I have the pleasure of using all that I have learnt sailing as well as my exposure to many different cultures and people to give you an adventure filled experience that you will never forget.


Chef/First Mate Eddie

Your chef, Eddie, is 31 years old and is originally from Philadelphia. He grew up playing football and playing music in bands with his friends. Eddie has always been very social and is able to relate to almost anyone that he meets. He went to university to study modern music production, but then unexpectedly fell in love with cooking and decided to give the his culinary career a go. Since he was 20 years old Eddie has been cooking in fine dining atmospheres. When he was 26, he was apart of the chef team at Vernick Food & Drink, and while he worked there, their team was awarded the Best Chef James Beard award in 2017. After that, he moved to the Fort Lauderdale area where he was introduced to the Yachting industry. Soon after, Eddie began his dream job of cooking on charter catamarans in the US Virgin Islands. Eddie really values a hard work ethic and being able to work in the beautiful Caribbean islands inspires him daily. He plans to one day achieve his commercial Captain´s license and to be able to travel and work all over the world. In his free time, Eddie loves exercising, playing guitar, singing (especially karaoke!), free diving, snorkeling, spear fishing and line fishing, and making connections with everyone he meets.

Yacht terms: All Inclusive
An all-inclusive charter covers all provisioning and running expenses. This includes a captain and crew that is fully trained and committed to your safety and enjoyment of your trip. A chef will provide the kind of exceptional, personalized meal preparation that you would expect of a five-star restaurant. The listed rate may not include all local taxes, cruising permits, premium beverages and scuba activities. Inquire for more information.

SAINT MARTIN / SAINT BARTHS RELOCATION FEE:
Relocation fee of $2,000, minimum 72 hour turn required on either side of charter dates for boat transit. Please inquire for availability.

MINIMUM NIGHTS: 5

GUEST PAX: 8

LESS THAN 7 NIGHT CHARTER RATES: For 6 night charters, divide weekly rate by 7 nights X 6 nights. For 5 nights or less, divide weekly rate by 6 nights X number of nights.

SLEEP ABOARD: 1/2 the daily rate. Dinner ashore at client´s expense. Includes; boarding after 4pm, welcome cocktail and breakfast the next morning and early start.

HALF-BOARD OPTION: $100 discount per person
Includes; 7 breakfasts, 4 lunches & 3 dinners, all other meals to be eaten ashore at client´s expense.

LOCAL FARE OPTION: $75 discount per person
Includes; 7 breakfasts, 5 lunches & 6 dinners, all other meals to be eaten ashore at client´s expense.

CHILDREN DISCOUNT:
$100 discount per child.

2024 ​Christmas: 7-night minimum $31,000 for 2-8 guests, must finish by December 26th.
2024 NEW YEARS: Flat Rate $36,000 Must begin no sooner than Dec 28th

48-hour turn arounds required - inquire for 24-hour turns; each 24-hour turn will incur a $400 fee when approved

TIP:
It is customary to tip your crew at the end of your charter. The amount you leave is totally at your discretion and should be based on the level of service provided. The suggested gratuity is 15%-25% of the total charter fee.

CONTRACT SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
BVI fees are included in rate.
If the Yacht is NOT allowed entry into the BVI, FOR ANY REASON, during the time of charter, the charter will take place in the USVI waters.

Amazing trip! Thank you so much for all your hard work. This has been such a stressful year with covid and quarantine. We definitely needed a break from all of it. You helped us accomplish all we wanted to do - beautiful hikes, great snorkeling, wonderful beaches. Taylor, the food was delicious!! Thanks to both of you for all your hard work! Christmas Eve dinner was the best! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. it will definitely be one of our favorite Christmas memories. And of course after each great day of fabulous food and fun adventures we played playing Settlers of Catan. We are definitely going to have to return if nothing else, to try to beat Xander. Captain Xander was the absolute best!!! Always super helpful in suggesting plans, super calm and collected amidst a few boat issues we had, and always encouraging of a good time. Not to mention he found us some awesome swim spots and amazing places to eat. We all met as strangers and left as friends. We definitely know our experience would not have been nearly as amazing if it weren’t for him. We can’t wait to request him next time!!

Accommodating and understanding

Xander´s knowledge about the boat, the sea, each island and yacht week was stellar. He was exceptionally helpful in communicating updates, recommending things to do/dinner venues and booking said venues. He was really great at reading overall energy levels of the group and matching them. Also hyping us up when needed! He was accommodating and understanding - reminding us all that it was our trip and tailoring it to us.

The perfect balance between professionalism, safety, and fun

Captain Xander was amazing. He struck the perfect balance between professionalism, safety, and fun during a seriously challenging week due to the Corona Virus situation. The whole time maintaining a positive attitude and checking in with each of us personally to still give us the best vacation possible. Personally, I was interested in learning about sailing, and Xander was more than happy to nerd out with me, which was great. Even though it was my first charter, I really can’t imagine having a better, more receptive, and friendly skipper!

Not only were the meals always different, but always fresh, always creative and so well thought out

I LOVE TAYLOR. That’s my girl!!!! Food was fire, so so good always. Not only were the meals always different, but always fresh, always creative and so well thought out. We had so many different options, everyone always had enough. We kept saying she couldn’t top one meal, and then she’d top it with the next one. If we ate a lot at breakfast, she was flexible about lunch time. She was very attentive and was quick on her feet to making use of what was available. She was super friendly, talkative, energetic, bubbly, funny, and we loved hanging with her. Especially me I got to talk to her a lot and she was awesome. Up early, working hard, on task, cleaning up, not leaving any messes, washing dishes right after meals, and always so helpful to us on setting up/coordinating dinners and hanging with us. Really feel like I made a genuine friend with her too.

The food was Michelin 3 stars

When I think of peaches I think of Taylor. Her energy and smile alone made the week that much more fun. Her food was Michelin 3 stars. She was always on point with everything, from getting our tables set up to helping us with jet skis. Taylor is an Aussie but moving to the US and I can´t wait to reunite with her in October.

We highly recommend you as perfect hosts for any group

We challenged you to free us from quarantine and pandemic induced claustrophobic blues while also keeping us safe. You were wildly successful! Xander sailed us to beautiful hidden harbors and secluded beaches without requiring us to look at our watches or a calendar for that matter. Xander accommodated our desire to feel productive by accepting less than effective gestures of help in anchoring and mooring making us feel like contributors despite increasing his workload. Taylor´s meals were inspired, delicious, and beautiful gourmet courses. When the local restaurants shut down mid week, new onboard menus were planned and delivered without missing a beat. Not only were you competent at adjusting to unplanned curveballs, you did so in a way that made it seem like the plan all along. By the end of the trip we were calling you ´mom and dad´ despite us being twice your age. You were the coolest ´parents on the boat´ since you fed us a never-ending stream of painkillers. We highly recommend you as perfect hosts for any group looking to dip their toes in the water and adolescence, secure that you´ll keep them from drowning in either.
