Endless Horizon Crew Profile
Darren Henn was born in South Africa and at the early age of four, his parents realized they just couldn’t get him away from the ocean!
Eventually at the age of nine, after moving to the beautiful Seychelles islands to grow up, Darren became a scuba diver at a young age all due to a family of divers and spent every day possible diving and spending time with his true underwater love!
Between volunteering for the MCSS(Marine conservation society of Seychelles) where he did whale shark, manta and turtle research, sailing small racing yachts, fishing and swimming nationally, Darren followed in his mother’s footsteps in becoming a dive instructor once he had completed his schooling.
Darren then found a new love at the age of eighteen that he could share the ocean with; the yachting industry, where he began to work on a beautiful Dutch top sailed schooner dating back to 1912. This was the start of a new world for Darren that would lead him to a boat load of certifications and leaving him as a dive instructor and enthusiastic diesel engineer with an MCA All Ocean 500 tonne captain license!
Darren has now been working with 11 years of experience in the private yachting industry and in term charters ranging from 60ft all the way up to superyachts of 150ft. He has also worked all over the world ranging from the Mediterranean Sea, Indian Ocean, East Coast of Africa with pirates lurking around every corner to the beautiful Caribbean where turquoise waters are an endless view! But that’s to only name a few, otherwise the list would be too long!
Despite a life of traveling, Darren always finds himself coming back to the Virgin Islands!
As a fountain of knowledge, Darren always has an exciting story up his sleeve and loves putting a smile on a face while guiding snorkeling trips, island walks or just letting the guests enjoy a beautiful sunset while sipping a captains cocktail!
Sarah grew up in Germany close to the Coast of the North Sea where she soon discovered from an early age that being on the Water makes her complete. Therefore the decision to join the Yachting Industry 3 Years ago wasn’t a hard one. With a solid background in Hospitality, working in a Michelin Star Restaurant in Calgary, Canada or 2 years and working in the German Biergarten in the Epcot Center at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.
Her passion for cooking ignited in her early age. She absolutely enjoyed watching her Grandma create all these great old school German dishes from Scratch. So being in the Galley and creating nice dishes, feels natural to her. She enjoys fresh and healthy Foods, as well as the Italian Cuisine.
With this background it wasn’t hard to get her first Job as a Cook/Stew aboard a 95ft Hargrave MY. Ever since she has been on a variety of different Yachts sizing from 60ft to 164ft. It became very clear, that she really enjoyed the Chefing side, as she has always loved to cook for her family and friends. So, she wanted to take it a step further and did a Yacht Chef Cooking Course in the beautiful South West of England at the Ashburton Cookery School.
In her time off Sarah loves to travel the World and explore place’s she’s never been before and of course the best way to get to know the Culture is through Local Cuisine and a nice Glass of Wine.
Dominique or as she prefers Dom, grew up part time on the island of Mauritius where she developed a deep passion for the ocean, she finds the ocean to be a place where calm and chaos work so perfectly in unison.
Upon studying business and completing an Interior Design degree, she wanted to take what she learnt in the design field and hopes that someday she will be the designer of super yachts, becoming apart of the crew allows her to explore all aspects within the yachting world to allow
me to in the future cater perfectly in conceptualizing and designing the interiors of boats, sustainably creating the perfect, convenient and luxurious environments.
In her younger years Dom spent her time gathering people skills through promotional job and worked part time as a receptionist. In the maritime industry she has mainly worked as a stew on 50+ metre boats, but has decided to go to a more intimate position on the Endless Horizon.
Dom uses these tools to combine her passion for hosting, the ocean and luxury interiors to charter a successful career in the yachting industry.

Seychelles Islands charter . . .
My wife and I wanted to dive the Seychelles and made a last minute booking on Sea Star.
It was our first boat trip and we were both eager and apprehensive about it.
Our flight was delayed and we met captain Darren, the sea star, and her crew after nightfall.
They made us instantly feel welcome, and had a late dinner ready for us.
The weather was stormy, but thanks to captain Darren knowledge of weather and islands, we spent an amazing week...
The nights were smooth and we felt safe despite rough seas, and we were perfectly rested for dayly visits on well chosen islands or great dives on perfect locations.
Darren is a great divemaster too, and took us to some beautiful sites and showed us local and well hiden marine life.
Back up on board, our captain created a great atmosphere on the sea star, perfect for chilling on the deck, with nice drinks he mixed for us, and music (sometimes live!)
Looking fwd to the next boat trip with Captain Darren, with dives and and maybe some surfing too!
A trip to remember for sure. The islands were beautiful. The weather cooperated. And the food was awesome. But what made it special (besides the company also onboard) was having such an amazing captain and crew. (Captain) Darren Henn not only navigated is well, but was an entertaining and knowledgeable host. We learned about the islands we were visiting, the sea life. Some in our group even dove for the first time. Thanks for the memories. I highly recommend a tour with Darren.
We were lucky enough to be on board a catamaran charter with Darren Henn as our captain for 7 days throughout the BVIs. We travel a fair amount and to this day it’s our family’s favorite trip. We went in a little Leary of what to expect thinking it might be too much time on a boat and nervous about sleeping tied to a mooring ball. Darrens knowledge and skills left us feeling so safe and comfortable. Additionally he was great at reading people. We always felt we had our space but he added to the fun with stories of the sea up for anything personality yet the utmost manners. Our kids wanted him to join us in our adventures and dinners because we all loved his company. We hope to repeat this trip someday and would definitely do it again with Captain Darren.

In March 2019, my partner Maria and I visited the Seychelles for the fist time. Having previously sailed on smaller boats elsewhere in the world, we were keen to try out the waters of the Indian Ocean. However, we also knew that the success of the trip rested less on the weather, the vessel or even the sights, but with the captain and his crew. Spending a significant amount of time in a relatively confined space with strangers, it essential the right atmosphere is created. In this, we landed on our feet with Cpt. Darren Henn. From the relaxed and pleasant way we were greeted and welcomed on to the boat, the way he calmly and efficiently managed his crew throughout, and his knack of making all his guests feel special, we couldn´t have done much better than Darren. Despite the numerous things we saw and did, no one ever felt rushed. The guests also felt involved and listened to, as Darren was as flexible as time and tide allowed. He also took us for our first diving experiences. Thanks to him, we have both now taken up diving more seriously, and have competed our basic qualifications (with more to come).
We spent a heavenly week aboard the Sea Star, in the Seychelles, with Mr. Darren Henn at his command.
The captain and his crew were always on hand to satisfy our stay; preparation of a succulent BBQ on board, as well as on the beach after a shore excursion.
Each evening, our super Captain told us the next day´s briefing with precious tips for shore excursions, and lots of humor.
The crossings have always been pleasant and safe.
It will be with pleasure to travel again.
It’s a pleasure to follow you on the social medias, which allows me to always remember/dream about our Sea Star Cruise in the Seychelles in November 2018.
It was one of the most amazing experience, Sonja and I made and we enjoyed every single minute of the trip. Beside enjoying the beautiful nature on the various Seychelles Islands and all the comfort on the Sea Star, I want to highlight the fantastic host of Captain Darren Henn and his entire crew. Darren is such a nice and enthusiastic guy with a great sense of humour to make this week even more pleasant. In particular I have also liked the creole food, prepared by the boats cook, who put one’s heart and soul into it.
I sincerely hope, this has not been our last sailing cruise experience and would like to join Darren anytime and anywhere again for such a great holiday.
Dear Darren – wish you all the best in the Caribbean and I will keep on following you which allows me to have a little “virtual” holiday every day, although in my professional life.
Kind regards rolf (roof-san)
After much research we decided that the best way to see the Seychelles was by boat, as there would be to many islands and day trips to and from, that would make the trip cost prohibitive. We settled on taking a sailing ship to cruise the islands and settled on the Sea Star. Long vacation story short, it was the correct decision. We saw all the islands in a weeks time with trips from the boat. Not only did we have time to explore the islands, but also had plenty of time to enjoy diving and other water sports as well from the boat. The Captain, Darren and crew were very flexible about the itinerary as to make the most of our time on the islands and the boat. Darren was very knowledgeable about where to find specific fish that the guests were interested in seeing. Snorkeling with captain to find Mantas and Sharks was not a problem for Darren. The captain and crew made us fell right at home and any and all requests were met if at all possible. Darren always knew where to anchor the boat so the chef could land a fabulous catch of the day for our dinner. Many thanks to Darren and the his crew for there hospitality and hard work, to make our week aboard so very memorable. Thank you Darren for a great week and to the crew.

Starting in Victoria, we first got an introduction by our Captain, Darren Henn, about the boats facilities and the general procedure of the trip.
We started to Beau Vallon for the first 2 nights visiting the national park near by and did first divings.
During the second night we started our smooth crossing to Praslin Island. If you are into birds, the stop at Cousin Island will be enjoyable.
The next days we went to the famous beaches of Praslin, Anse Lazio and Côte d’Or. Diving was great there as well. A trip to Valle de Mai with its unique palm trees was a nice experience as well.
Lastly we visited La Digue spending the day biking the island.
Besides the beautiful nature of Sychelles, the boat and its crew made a big difference to me and my fellow travellers. Especially Darren Hen made this trip a unique one for me. His knowledgable briefings in the evenings, support for diving instructions and handling the crew during that week was simply amazing to see.
My wife and i did our honeymoon tripp with you in the sychelles
It was amazing and we had a lot of fun by the card games at the evening.
Also the wedding cake we get was amazing.
You were allways happy and positiv. And we had some great moments.
Thank you from the swiss
The best way to visit the main islands of the Seychelles is by sea. Compared to other shipping companies, Silhouette Cruises, with the Sea Star, offers something more. Not just sailing, but also the comfort of a hotel; not only the famous sunsets on the sea but also the comfort of a cosmopolitan crew; not only large spaces but also all sea sports. The quality of the service and the honesty of the prices make the Sea Star the best way to get to know the Seychelles.
During our stay on board, Darren Henn worked hard to satisfy everyone´s wishes, from sport to nature, from local culture to the marine environment. The entire crew, primarily Darren, was always available to guests to satisfy our wishes.
I really enjoyed the trip on the Sea Star in Seychelles. I had an amazing time on the boat with a super nice crew and a really cool captain! What I really appreciated was the familiar atmosphere, the barbecues on the beach and the incredible food the crew created. Moreover the program was very well structured so that I could discover as much of the islands as possible in a week. Especially the captain, Darren Henn, did a very good job - not only as a captain but as well as an entertainer. He showed us the most wonderful places and thereby we always had a lot of fun. All in all it was definitely one of the best journeys of my life and I really can recommend to everybody to do this unforgettable trip on the Sea Star.
What a wonderful memory this Seychelles cruise aboard Sea Star. My daughter and I had a great time, thank you to all the crew and to Captain Darren who each evening joined us to tell us about the program for the next day, and took care of us throughout this too short week. .. Amazing cruise thanks to an Amazing captain.
