Having spent four years on BURN RATE cruising the Caribbean and the East Coast of the USA, he has developed an exceptional understanding of these regions and their hidden gems. Captain Theron´s personal interests include fishing, spearfishing, surfing, tennis, and photography, which he seamlessly incorporates into his guests´ charter experiences. His dedication to ensuring charter guests have an unforgettable time onboard sets him apart, as he goes above and beyond to create a welcoming and enjoyable environment.

Chef Briar Smith

Like many adventurous Kiwi’s, Briar left New Zealand to travel the world in her early 20’s. This led her to discover a passion for food & cooking. She trained as a travel agent and worked in the UK for several years, a computer programmer in the USA for 2 years and as an avid volunteer worker in Israel and the Galapagos. Throughout this time Briar developed her culinary skills which she has since complimented with several training courses in the UK as well as advanced courses at Gastronomicom in the South of France which is a world-renowned Michelin starred InternaDonal training academy. This training, her love for food of all cultures and experience in the galley has her effortlessly delivering a variety of cuisines with amazingly full flavors. All dishes are presented with aXenDon to detail and elegance. Briar’s enthusiasm for food and people will win you over and her attention to detail will ensure that your vacation aboard BURN RATE is perfect.

Engineer Darren Mckellar

Darren brings over a decade of expertise to the role of yacht engineer, making him an indispensable member of any crew. With a diverse engineering background, Darren has excelled in working with high voltage electricity as well as marine diesel systems. His extensive knowledge and experience ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of all technical aspects on board. Darren´s dedication to his craft and commitment to excellence make him a reliable problem solver, able to tackle any engineering challenge that may arise.

Mate Todd Hardie

Hailing from Australia, Todd brings seven years of invaluable experience in the yachting industry to his role. Having worked his way up, his ultimate goal is to become a captain. Todd´s expertise in all water toys and sports ensures that guests have an extraordinary experience on board. The prices shown are for the entire yacht for a week-long (7 nights) charter.
Low price: $74,000

High price: $79,000

The high and low prices of this yacht depend on both the number of guests and the traveling season. Send us an inquiry for exact pricing.
Yacht terms: Plus Expenses
The price includes a professional crew operating your chartered yacht, but all running expenses such as fuel, tax, provisions and any other costs are extra. Calculate between 15-25% for a sailing yacht and 25-35% for a motor yacht on top of the given rate with an APA cash payment made to the ships agent or captain, who will keep an open tap and produce full accounts of all expenditures. Unused APA money will be refunded. Inquire for more information.

High Rate - $79,000 / week + all other expenses
Low Rate - $74,000 / week + all other expenses

High season rates apply to New Years, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas, unless otherwise noted.
A minimum of 7-10 nights is required for bookings over Christmas (7 Day Min) or NYE (10 Day Min).
Please inquire about a longer term charter, which would include both holidays.

Repositioning Fees may apply for charters outside of where vessel is based at time of inquiry. Please inquire.
For less than a week please divide the weekly rate by 6, and minimum of 5 days. The owner prefers week long charters.
35% APA is standard
A security deposit may be requested for corporate charters

Tax Status:
7% Tax USA
VAT and/or local taxes applicable according to the cruising area ie. Bahamas = 14% total VAT/Tax

Please note that Hurricane Season is June - November and contracts during this time will require a Hurricane Addendum addressed by all parties.
