Captain - Anders Bundgaard
Education: USCG Master Mariner, 200/500 ton, all Oceans; Power/Sail: Expert; Private Pilot, Single Engine, Floatplane: Intermediate
Languages Spoken: English
Captain Anders Bundgaard is an expert in yachting through the Bahamas and Exumas, and brings more than three decades of experience to EQUINOX. His father was in the Danish Merchant Marine, and inspired Anders as a young child. They purchased a sailboat together in 1983, and Anders never looked back. He launched his career in Coconut Grove, Florida, and first sailed to the Bahamas two years later. Throughout his career, he has worked on sailboats, charters and regattas, sailing between New York and the Bahamas/Caribbean, San Francisco and Hawaii, and along the coast of Mexico. A career highlight is launching the 110’ ALPHA CENTAURI with his father, which is the first yacht that Anders served as captain.
Stew - Fiona Last
Certifications: PADI Divemaster Certificate.
Fiona hails from Oxford, UK and grew up in a small country village next door to a farm. She has a degree in television production, but has worked in the hospitality industry since she was 14. Following a few years in event management in London, she moved to Australia and fell in love with the sea. She spent two years working on a dive boat in the Great Barrier Reef before moving to the yacht industry, and started her career on superyachts in the Mediterranean and the Bahamas. Her passion for diving started when she was still at home in the UK, and started her PADI training in Northern England’s Coldwater lakes. She also loves reading, snorkeling and wakeboarding. Now, this friendly, bubbly Stew has joined the crew of EQUINOX.
Mate - Paul Nelson
Education/Certifications: BSc Marine Sciences; 200T Captain’s License, GMDSS, Marine Engineering Certification, PADI Dive Instructor.
Languages Spoken: English, conversational Spanish
Born and raised in Plymouth, England, Paul Nelson grew up in the city but loved to hike the great outdoors. Prior to embarking on a yachting career in 2012, Paul spent more than a decade as a dive instructor on both small and large vessels. He also spent six months sailing liveaboards, delivered a yacht across the Pacific, and worked as a white boat captain for a luxury island resort in the Bahamas. When not at sea, Paul enjoys hiking, rock climbing and solo travel. His favorite place to be in the world is under water, where you’ll find him cave diving or teaching others how to scuba dive. He is happy to bring his skills and enthusiasm to his role aboard EQUINOX.
Chef - Dennis J. Farrel
Education: Pastry Certificate, Peter Krumps, New York; Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts, The Art Institute, New York; Servsafe Managers Food Handling Certificate; STCW
Languages Spoken: English
Dennis Farrel is a freelance yacht chef in the Bahamas with a background at some of New York’s finest restaurants. His career started at The Plaza Hotel, and as a young chef, he was chef de partie at Picholine NYC, lunch fish cook at Lutece NYC, and pastry chef at Aqua Grill. He spent time in Geneva, Switzerland as a freelance chef at Chez Philippe. Dennis’ work has brought him to many enticing destinations, where he’s learned about the food and culture of each place -- including New Orleans, Puerto Rico, and St. John, USVI.

Equinox Guest Reviews
COMMENTS FROM March 2, 2019:
My family had an amazing day out on the water. I can not say enough positive things about the crew. All went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and happy! This was my first charter but certainly won’t be the last.
COMMENTS FROM FEB 7-14, 2016:
DAY 3: Thanks for checking. The weather has not been great to say the least, however, in as much as I would like to say we are making the best of it, it is indeed the amazing crew of the Equinox that is undeniably making this trip a fabulous experience. I will tell you when I return all about the many amazing ways they have offset the weather and incredibly making this voyage extraordinary, above and beyond any of our expectations !
DAY 5: Just a quick update on our Exuma adventure that is coming to an end. The weather continues to be on the wrong side of the barometer for us, but as each degree of temperature drops , the Equinox crew steps up and exceeds any possible and imaginable expectations! I have been blessed in life to experience some of the best this world have to offer, but rarely this genuine level of concern, care and professionalism. Just thought Id share that with you!
END OF CHARTER: ´Hope that you are having a great Valentine´s weekend. We have left Equinox heavy hearted after an amazing week (except for the weather). All went very well, and as I stated in my emails to you, the crew performed miracles to make this voyage memorable for us. Please forward my most sincere gratitude to all involved to have made this trip fantastic. You may use any of my statements to promote chartering Equinox, as each compliment is an understatement of how great this voyage was.
